A lot more girls are seen on bikes than a few years ago. There are more women-specific clothes and bikes to cater to the growing market, although whether this is what women want is another discussion altogether. Women can ride just as well as men. This could be one of the most significant steps in breaking gender stereotypes. Youth programs are starting to crop up everywhere the map introducing young riders, especially girls, to the game. Being brought into a gender-equal match at an early age, the kids will never see the ‘gender divide.’ It will just be people riding bikes.
